Reflections
During my time in the MATL program, I spent a great deal of time reflecting on numerous aspects of my personal and professional life. Reflection is an important part of being an educator, because we must reflect in order to improve. Before my courses in the MATL program I rarely made time for reflection because I saw it as a waste of what little free time I had. I now know that I was quite wrong. Reflection plays a huge role in self-improvement. By spending time reflecting upon my teaching strategies, lesson plans, class observations, and my beliefs about education I have been able to learn and grow as a professional so that I can be an effective teacher.
